Travel west of Whistler, on the west side road, to Rainbow park.
What a romantic gentleman, Alex Philip must have been when he developed Rainbow Lodge on Alta Lake. He and his wife Myrtle in an effort to encourage honeymooners to the the largest lake resort west of the rockies, at that time,renamed Alta creek to its present name River of golden dreams. Newlyweds were encourged to drift along the river enjoying the scenery, sipping wine and doing whatever newlyweds do.
Visit the grounds nearby. Its well worth the free visit.
