Geocache Description:

It’s that time of the year again. The Ohio River Sweep also known as the Otter Creek CITO. This event is located in the boundaries of Otter Creek Park. Come out to the park do a little work. Meet new and old friends and just have a good Ol’ Time.

Otter Creek Park is one of the treasures of the Louisville and Jefferson County Metro Park System. Otter Creeks 2,600 acres offer an abundance of outdoor experiences for one and all that enjoy the outdoors.

Otter Creek Park like all of the parks in our geocaching area needs some help. If you have the time and enjoy the great outdoors and geocaching, we need your help to make a difference in our caching area.

This CITO Day is a coordinated effort with the Administrator and Park Naturalist of Otter Creek Park.

WHY :

  • Perform community service as responsible users of all Kentucky and Local parks
  • Expose you to Otter Creek Park and what it offers.
  • Acquaint geocaching and geocachers to administrators of the park
  • A day to get acquainted with new area geocachers rekindle new friendships and place faces to names that we only see in print.

  • 17 JUNE 2006
  • 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
  • We will break and 12:00 For our event

Please bring your own food and drinks.

CACHING

I am not sure whether there will be any new caches but there will be six temporary caches that will be well worth finding for the first six cachers that find them and six event caches

The caches will post the day of the event. Coordinates will be distributed after lunch to all who participated in the clean up.

There are presently thirty-eight caches in the park with twenty-two plus caches around the Otter Creek Park area. So come early and make a day of cache in and around Otter Creek Park.

REMEMBER

Come early; bring gloves, lunch, caching equipment and a geocaching attitude. Presently we all have an excellent reputation with the local park officials, and we would like to continue to advance our geocaching image.
