In Them Woods, Thar Be Giants! Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

-allenite-: As there's been no response from the cache owner to my previous note, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that geocaches archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

A hike on the main trails at a great park! Leave your car at Indian Crossing Trails Parking Lot off of M-50 in Tecumseh. The coordinates above are to the first cache site. **Please note!!! Due to the high muggle/critter interaction at stage 1 at times there are only coordinates, at times a small container--I've had to become more devious.....**

Tired of micros? This multi is for you! The 6 (now only 5caches, but still 6 sites, see the note above!) cache sites are each small/regular size containers with great stuff to trade -- not a micro in 'site' ! Each cache contains the next coordinates on the lid. Bring a lot of swag to trade along the way, but the final cache is the only one with a log book. Each location is within sight of a Giant, but some trails become more difficult to find in the late summer foliage or the winter snow. You can cross country if you want, but mark your car and bring bug spray. Some bushwacking may be needed so wear long pants to avoid poison ivy (this is the woods, afterall) and thorny plants! Shoes that can get muddy are a plus too. Be prepared for a few hills, bumpy terrain, and a couple "bridge" crossings -- not a place for wheeled strollers! There are many other caches in this park! Make a day of it! This cache was designed to take you on a hike on the 3 main trails: one along the lake and Channel, one on the West side of the river and one along the East side of the river. To cross the river for stages 2 and 3, go all the way along the Channel Trail to the big dam (not the little one in the middle at the 1/2 mile marker). The East trail will go back into the woods at the Burt Street parking area. You may be tempted to cross the river at some points as some of the caches seem very close on the GPS, but do so at your own risk! It is much safer to go back around the way you came. By walking on the trails, the hike is just over 3 1/2 miles, if you know the park layout and don't stray too far in your searches. Within the first few caches you'll know who the Giants are...
