Located in New Hampton's Mikkelson Park on the east edge of New Hampton on Iowa Hwy. 24. Nearby parking is available. This terrain may require some walking in close spaces and perhaps climbing a few steps.
Welcome to New Hampton's Wooden Wonderland located in Mikkelson park. This park offers many family amenities including a swimming pool, basketball and tennis courts, frisbee golf, volleyball, horseshoes, baseball fields, picnic shelters and a bandshell. Mikkelson park also hosts the annual Davis Rally each year on the weekend following Labor Day. The rally brings to New Hampton over 3,000 touring bikes including but not limited to Honda Gold Wings and Kawasaki Voyagers to name a few. The Davis Rally is quite an event to see and doubles the population of New Hampton for a weekend. The Wooden Wonderland was built during the fall of 1990 by a small army of volunteers who wanted to create a giant playland for the community.
The cache you are looking for is a black 35mm film canister with a log sheet and a pencil. The Wooden Wonderland will be busy on most nice days so be cautious of curious on-lookers. Please sign and date the log sheet and any comments about the cache or the park are welcome. Try to return the cache in the same location to prevent mugglers from finding.
