Geocache Description:

The Southrocks Cache is located in the Laural Highlands. It is not far from the Laural Highland Hiking Trail Parking Area off Rt. 30. The paths to the cache are dirt service roads for gas/electric companies, etc.

The cache is not far from the Rt. 30 Shelter Area along the Laural Highland Hiking Trail, so for some extra fun, make an overnight trip out of it. The shelter area is rustic, but peaceful and about a half mile from the parking area. Reservations are required to stay at the shelter areas. As you approach the coordinates of the cache, you will be looking at a large rock wall about 50 feet high. This is Southrocks. The wall is filled with cracks and crevices as well as split rocks on the ground. The cache is somewhere in this area. Lots of luck! The coordinates listed are as close to the cache as I could get and still get a reliable satellite lock. I tried to include some relatively decent items in the cache. The container is square and plastic. Inside you will find a dubbed DVD recording of the movie Sahara, a shotglass, watch, Lexmark ink cartridge refill kit, and some other items. It is recommended that more than one person search for the cache. There is an inherent danger in searching the crevices. A second person should be there in case someone gets hurt. Please be careful and have fun.
