Heartland Cacher: Greetings I'm Heartland Cacher, one of the volunteer reviewers for caches submitted to Geocaching.com.

I can't find any recent responses from the Cache Owner about maintaining this cache which makes it appear the Cache Owner is either unwilling or unable to maintain the cache. Cache maintenance includes listing maintenance including updating any changes to the text, updating coordinates, removing needs maintenance attributes and enabling the listing. The cache will be archived and removed from the active cache listings.

"If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived."

Geocache Description:

Final stage is a large (slightly larger than 50 cal) plastic ammo can. 1st and 2nd stage are 2inch by 1 inch metal tags in trees. General mountainous/prairie terrian including, weeds, grass, yucca, many cactus, trees, brush, fallen trees, pine needles, soft uneven ground, steep elevation changes, rocks, sand, short cliffs, slopes. This is a Nebraska Wildlife mangement area - watch for hunters at times of the year.

Carry water with you. Tell somebody where you are going. This area is beautiful but this is tough physically demanding terrian - do no attempt this cache if you are not physically fit. Use great caution. Wear proper attire. Park near the green gate just south of the posted coordinates.


This is a 3 stage multi-cache that is easily the most physically demanding cache I have yet placed. While there is no great distance to be walked (less than 1 mile roundtrip), it is tough physically demanding terrian. You do not need ropes or other special equipment but you need to take your time a pick a route that is mostly safe. I urge you to be very cautious and watch kids closely. The first 2 stages are not as physically demanding but final stage is. Be certain to mark your car so that you do not become confused on the way out. Very scenic and rugged area through here. I have been exploring since I placed the "Not so Timid" cache nearby. This part of the WMA is a lot different. The first stage is a small metal tag fastened to a branch near the trunk of a tree - it contains coordinates for the 2nd stage. At the second stage there are 2 tags. The 1st has coordinates for the final cache and the 2nd has a 4 digit numerical code needed to open the final cache box - (write this code down). These 2 locations may be easy for you or may require a great deal of time to locate. Check, check and double check coordinates before seeking final stage. Now it gets a bit rougher. Pick your way carefully. Your GPS signal may not be a very good one as you near the final cache location. Please rehide as good or better than you find it. Cache box has many nice items - please trade fairly. Do not attempt this cache if there is a good chance of rain in the forecast or soon after a rain as this could make it near impossible to get to. Adverse winter conditions are not advisable either.Enjoy this one but PLEASE BE CAREFUL. Very special find for FTF (unlogged after I found it)
