A nice hike into the Mattatuck State Forest
Located in Hancock Brook Lake. Nice 1 mile paved walk from the rear trailhead with a few ups and downs. Some intersecting trails along the way. From October to April, the gate is locked at the parking area. During season park is open from dawn to dusk. About .4 miles there is a model airplane field if you are so inclined. Cache is placed off the trail a bit. Some bushwhacking is required. The difficulty rating only applies to the last few feet. Happy Caching!
