This is another in my bridge survey...
This bridge was custom built for Sycamore Springs. It is an interesting bridge in that it has a removable center section. The bridge is across the only access road to Diablo Canyon. During maintenance, occasionally Diablo brings in a 26' tall turbine. To build this bridge, Sycamore needed to make sure that PG&E could bring in this piece of equipment. As a compromise, a 18' wide section of bridge can now be removed by crane. The bridge has unusually large frame members. That is so that there would be fewer in number, and so the bridge would not have the "Erector set" look. The frame is painted green to make the bridge as inconspicuous as possible.
You are looking for a magnetic "ultra micro", with not much room on the log for anything. Sign in with nothing more than an "X" and a date.
