This cache was placed in honor of yellowbug's 55 birthday and is located near Chadron State Park. Although it is not in the park, you will need a park pass to enter the park to drive near to the cache. Parking is available 1/2 mile from the cache, or you may hike or mountain bike from other park areas. If you continue on the trail you will make a nice 3 mile loop (hilly) to return to your vehicle.
The cache has been redone because of the West Ash Fire that burned from late August until September 9th, 2012, and razed 58,450 acres. Thank you fire fighters!!! I have put out 3 ammo box caches and 2 of them have been burned in fires. I'm putting out a different container this time...
Take road to Black Hills Overlook and park at end. Cache is 1/2 mile down trail.
Take time to enjoy the view of the Black Hills and Chadron.
The cache is a small army decontamination kit and contains a log sheet and pencil.
