This is the site of the original Merrillan feed mill. They used the dam to grind feed for animals. The mill was shut down from grinding grain before 1962. It has been used as storage since then.
Very pretty waterfalls from the dam and a nice park above with camping and a park for the kids to play in. We have been wanting to put a cache in this park for sometime because we spend a lot of time in the area.
My husband, Chaumer, families are from the Merrillan and Alma Center. Both are great home towns where everyone knows everyones families.
On the way out of town on Hwy 95 check out Merrillans town history on the side of the grocery store. Merrillan is a great stop in between Black River Falls, Neillsville, Hixton, Humbird, and Northfield.
Beware of Turkeys, deer, Pheasents maybe a black bear and other wildlife near the roadways to and from this cache.
You are looking for a cammo taped peanut butter jar. There is a FTF Satelite in it and lots of great swag. We hope you enjoy visiting this little home town and this geo cache.
Due to the recent DNF we added a little more of a clue. We are TRYING FOR MORE than a grab and go on this one, so it might take a bit to find.

If planning on searching this one please read the logs. It is in a rocky area. Once again we did bump up the terrain rating. There is NO need to go under the bridge or very close to the water.
