Geocache Description:

Another cache on the Backbone Trail.

This cache is located at the Backbone Trail trailhead in Will Rogers State Historic Park. This is the easternmost trailhead for the Backbone Trail and the “End” of the trail if you are hiking from west to east. Today I, along with twelve other hikers completed the annual Backbone Trek, sponsored by the Santa Monica Mountains Trail Council (visit link) Our trek covered the entire 69-mile length of the backbone trail over the course of seven days, camping each night along the trail. I decided to place a cache here to mark the end of our trek. I placed another cache at the “Beginning” of the trail seven days ago when we started.

The cache is located near the trailhead kiosk and no bushwhacking is required. The cache is a small, camo’ed container containing small trade items, a log and pencil.

There are frequently many muggles in the area. Be careful when retrieving and replacing the cache. Please rehide well.

As always, be very careful poking around in the rocks and bushes and always look carefully before reaching into these areas.
