Geocache Description:

This is another cache located in the DNR’s Tahuya State Forest. The first part of this multi is just off the Overland Trail. From parking coordinates it is about a 2 mile round trip hike or you can park at the Sand Hill Pit for a 4 mile trek.

There are many access points to the Overland Trail in this general area, but if you park here (don't block the gate):
N 47 28.097
W 122 51.617
then it’s approximately 1 mile to the first stage.
Walk past the blue gate and down the forest road about ½ mile until you reach the Overland Trail. From there it’s about a half mile hike up the trail to the first stage, which is a small ammo can located approximately 70-90 feet from the Overland Trail. Please stay on the trail until you are less than 100 feet from the 1st cache location. Coordinates and directions to the 2nd stage are attached to the inside of the ammo can lid.
2nd stage is a small pill-bottle type container with coordinates and directions to final.
Final cache container is a huge ammo can for mortar rounds. It is about 6"x12"x32".
Keep the title of this cache in mind during the hunt. :)

Additional notes:
1. While obtaining permission from the local forester to place this cache, he suggested picking up a little trash while on the hunt. I explained CITO to him and told him I would encourage it in this listing. So, please help bolster the ‘geo-cacher’ reputation by picking up some trash on the way out. If you notice large debris piles dumped by the gate, please let me know so I can notify the forester.
2. I found fresh cougar tracks on the day I was researching this hide. I live close to this hide and the next day I heard about a neighbor of mine who saw a LARGE cougar in his back yard that same day (May 3rd). The Tahuya State Forester that I spoke with also confirmed multiple sightings in the forest this year. To be clear : No attacks - just sightings; but please don’t hike or ride alone out here!
