JBK's Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Merrill Misfits: Well, this had a nice run. We have definitely noticed that our caching has decreased with the increase in gas prices. Time to open up the park for someone else to place some caches.

Geocache Description:

This cache is placed on park grounds at Roethke Park. Though it may be tempting, do not attempt to find from M-46!!! 75 acres, located 1/8 mile south of Gratiot on Leddy Road. Facilities include a swimming pool, volleyball courts, 3 picnic shelters, a man made lake, a miniature train, a tot lot, and nature trails. After heavy rains, this area can be very wet & muddy!

We first heard about Geocaching in November 2004.  After a lot of hemming and hawing about which GPSr to buy, we finally did our first cache one year ago on Memorial Day Weekend, 2005.  In the past year our caching adventures have taken us all over Michigan - both peninsulas - and out to Yellowstone National Park and back!  Even so, most of our caching fun has taken place locally here in Saginaw, Midland, & Gratiot Counties.  We wanted to place these caches as a way to say "Thank You" to all of the area cachers for their dedication to placing and maintaining caches and for providing our family with so many hours of fun!

This park was where we found our first cache, so we wanted to add a couple more to make the stop enjoyable for other cachers. (Besides, with $3.00 gas, it will be more affordable, too!) Most of these should be quick easy finds for the family to enjoy, however a few will take a bit more work.

This cache was placed by our 7 year old son. You are looking for a small camo'd lock box.  Please hide as good or better than you found it.

The Saginaw News says that the "Roethke Rail" - miniature train - is open for the summer. Hours are Noon to 4 PM on Saturdays and Sundays, weather permitting. Train Rides are $1.00 per rider. Looks like fun!

Congrats to All!
