Bradley Buchanon Woods is 22.2 wooded acres of glacial topography
connecting to Echo Beach/Woods (60.8 acares) and Pond Lot (10
acres). Along the way an intersecting white trail will take you to
Mansfield Hollow State Park. We've selected a spot to view 3
sizeable Kettle Hole's. Kettle holes are formed by blocks of ice
that brake from the retreating main glacier. The isolated blocks of
ice then become partially or wholly buried in outwash. When the ice
blocks eventually melt they leave behind holes or depressions that
fill with water to become kettle hole lakes. Unlike most ponds and
lakes, kettle holes often have no inflowing or outflowing streams.
Bradley-Buchanen Woods is part of the Joshua's Land Trust and they
graciously gave us permission to hide these caches on their
property.
From the intersection of Rt.195 and 89 in Mansfield Center, go
south on Rt 195. Take a left on Cemetery Road. Parking will be on
your left. You'll see the Pond Lot Joshua's Land Trust and Hugh M.
Hamil Jr. Memorial Trail signs immediately after the cemetery on
your left. OR start at Echo Lake cache.
All caches are just off the trails
