On the Sonnet Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Mad Poet: I moved up north and can no longer maintain this cache. I will collect it the next time I'm in town - if ever... I had a great time with this cache, though - my first and only. Thanks to all who found it and those who tried.

Geocache Description:

This cache is placed in Olson Park (formerly Northeast Area Park) by permission of the Natural Area Preservation office. I am told that this park was renamed Olson Park in honor of Ron Olson, formerly Director of the Ann Arbor Parks, now Director of Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Park hours are from 6am to 10pm.

Please be sure to follow the trails, as there are environmentally sensitive areas in this park. The trails may be a little muddy after rain and bring skeeter repellant.

The coordinates above are for parking. To get the coordinates for the cache, you must solve the puzzle below. To solve this puzzle, you will need to know the definition and structure of an English or Shakespearean Sonnet, including the definitions of the parts thereof.

On the Sonnet

If by dull rhymes our English must be chained,
And, like Andromeda, the Sonnet sweet
Fettered, in spite of painéd loveliness;
Let us find out, if we must be constrained,
Sandals more interwoven and complete
To fit the naked foot of poesy;
Let us inspect the lyre, and weigh the stress
Of every chord, and see what may be gained
By ear industrious, and attention meet;
Misers of sound and syllable, no less
Than Midas of his coinage, let us be
Jealous of dead leaves in the bay-wreath crown;
So, if we may not let the Muse be free,
She will be bound with garlands of her own.

-- John Keats (1795-1821)

Hint one is help for the puzzle, hint two is help for the location of the cache - decode as needed. I don't think I made it too hard - but if you really have a hard time with the puzzle let me know and I'll be happy give you a hand.

The cache is a small clear plastic jar type cache that I won at the last Coffee, Coins & Sigs event. There are a couple of first finder prizes in a ziplock bag outside the cache.

And last but certainly not least: A big thanks to my brother Victorymike for helping me place my first cache!!!
