Geocache Description:

Cache is a clear plastic container. Heavy tree cover may have thrown off my coordinates, so please feel free to suggest other coordinates if you find this cache and feel that mine are off. Please wear long pants if you look for this cache during the warm weather months as nettles and poison ivy are abundant. Should be pretty simple in the fall, winter, and early spring. The namesake for this cache was created by a local gentleman who has several other works in the area and along the trail. You can park at the nearby parking area for the trail, and stay on the Steamboat Trace trail until you're even with the cache location, then bushwack the last part. Listed coordinates are close to the cache, which is several feet from its namesake. The hint will make this much easier, so don't use it if you want more of a challenge. Original cache contents include: 2 free ice cream cone coupons from Deckers Food in Peru, 1 coupon for 2 free soft drinks at Cotty's Place Restaurant in Peru, a camo geocaching bracelet, and an LED light keychain (the keychain also has a non-working compass, but the light works great!). The local businesses who contributed the ice cream and soft drink coupons have said they'll contribute more of them to this cache as the originals are found and redeemed. Please note that this trail is closed during deer season in November and December each year. Note: The local NRD has been mowing this area in recent years, so less bushwhacking is needed than when I hid the cache.
