It may be a micro, but the intent is to give you a rest and a smiley on your journey. This cache is between the parking area and the first water crossing on the Alabama side. You are looking for an ORANGE matchstick container about 50' off trail. There's lots of tree cover, so the hint pretty much tells you where it is.
We were returning from our long march to the Walls of Jericho. Working back up hill was more than we expected. Exhaustion to the point of delusion was setting in. CacheMasterBurns said lets put it here and call it Joshua's Death March. CacheBurns couldn't argue the point too much.
After placing the cache, we awaiting for our friends to catch up. We figured if we gave them the coordinate to another cache we could rest longer while they searched.... The ploy worked! Anyway while we were just sitting there waiting, what comes running down the hill but a couple of kids in flip-flops and shorts.... "Are we almost there yet?" The only answer I could must was "Nope", to which they just kept hoping and skipping down. About ten minutes later, Mom and Dad came walking down the trail in sandles and shorts with a couple more kids. Mom was pointing to a plant saying, see that vine with five leaves.... be careful, that's poison ivy. They were standing in the middle of a bunch of it at the time... Boy they were in for a surprise or two. They asked if they were close also. I said, "Nope". Are we half way? Nope. How long until halfway? I'm not sure, but when you get to the footbridge, that's about halfway. The look on dad's face was telling; this was a big mistake. Have you seen my other two kids? Yep, they were runing downhill about ten minutes ago!
One of the people I saw on the trail also got dehydrated - I saw him loosing it all later on also!
Remember when hiking this trail to come prepared. Bring plenty of water. Wear something sensible. The poison ivy has three leaves. Be careful not to slip and fall - the consequences could be grave. BUT also expect a rewarding hike. The sights are well worth the effort.
