The Quarry picnic site is a rocky place. It faces eastward towards
Black Island and overlooks the narrows between the south and north
basins of Lake Winnipeg. The waves could be pounding or a gentle
sun shining at any given hour. Expect anything.
This is not really a place for little ones on their own. Even
the big ones need to pay close attention to where they are
stepping. But it is an interesting place to explore.
There is an easy way, a moderate way and a hard way to get to
this cache. But as the picture shows, there are some cliffs here
that deserve respect.
Use the parking lot at the south end of the site above the
Quarry. The walk should be less than 200 meters.
The cache has a volume of about 1 litre and is flat. Please
replace the cache with the cammo'd side facing out. It started with
a number of Hecla Island souvenirs and other small items. A
logbook, pencils and a First To Find cerificate are included.
