Geocache Description:

5th in 'The Onkaparinga River National Park' series.

This Anglican Church was built in 1850 and is the resting place of many early pioneers with names that are synonomous with the local area.
So what has a graveyard got in common with a National Park? Not much I guess. Although this church has a magnificient view upriver & also downriver as the river meanders around/through the township of Old Noarlunga! What a place to Rest In Peace! The church actually borders the Onkaparinga River National Park, but that doesn't mean you can jump the fence after you have found the answers to the following questions. Do that and you will find yourself resting in peace also, as there is a rather steep cliff on the other side of the church boundary!! Your final gz location is actually within 100 metres of the above listed co-ords, but you will need to find the 'Church Track' (gate 3, formerly gate 1) north of the church so as to meander your own way down to the river. Access to the National Park from here is between private properties, so please use the track! It is not very steep, although the last few metres to gz is just a little steep. Now onto the calculations.... Go to the above listed co-ords and find the Pedler gravestone. Thomas Pedler is the Pedler of whom a creek further south is named after. Subtract the Book from the South decimal minutes and add the Chapter to the East decimal co-ords. Your GPS should now be pointing over a very steep CLIFF!! Please head out the gate and up the road till you come to gate 3 of the Onkaparinga River National Park and go for it from there. Beware of snakes in summer, and slippery grass in winter. You're looking for what used to be 1kg of Goulbourn's finest in camo.
