Cache located at Greenspond, Bonavista Bay
Cache is located in Lovelace's Cove in the community of Greenspond, Bonavista Bay.
If you want to drive to the closest beginning point, take your first left after crossing the causeway. A dirt road leads to the starting point. Not too bad for a car, I'd suspect.
Cache is a green body shop container the size of a hockey puck. When placed, it contained a number of items, including a mini-panda, UPS key chain, some coins and other odds and ends even the destitute wouldn't want. Who cares about that stuff? As my buddy says, geocaching is as much about the cache items as Playboy is about the articles.
The cache is located on the Greenspond Trail. If you are up for a longer hike and want to circle the entire island and community, there are two other caches on the other end. You would need a couple of hours to get all three, I suspect but in my eyes the trail is well worth it.
Greenspond is Newfoundland landscape personified - salt-sprayed, barren, beautiful in a stark way, even trees weren't man enough to take residence on these shores. Hopefully, Greenspond (pop. 303) has the most geocaches per capita (3 at this time of writing) in rural Newfoundland.
