Tarry Mill Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Team Clova: Went out this evening to see how much more overgrown the area was. We couldn't get near the cache! Cakemaker we take our hats off to you! Closest we got was 48ft!
We have decided to archive this now as its just too difficult to access.
Will hopefully get out and remove the box when (if!) the vegetation dies down!

Geocache Description:

A short pleasant stroll along the mill race to the site of the Tarry Flax Mill.

The mill was demolished several years ago and all that remains is a pile of earth and stones. There is perhaps the remains of a sluice gate in the stonework where a smaller burn crosses under the path.
The cache is hidden in what looks like the remains of mill workers cottages.

This walk can be done as a circular walk by continuing past the cache site and following the track back to through the farmyard and down the hill.
Alternatively you may turn away from the farm and walk along the edge of the field before turning right - crossing the burn at the stone into the crop field - this is one of Clovas favourite walks.

There is signposted parking in St Vigeans village. Track is buggy friendly although cache is off track.
