Dust off the hiking boots, time to put them to use. Park at 41* 32.492N 093* 42.509W
The location is not an actual cache but the start of “Brown’s Woods HX?”.
When you reach this location you will need to look around. Look carefully and you will see the clue. Since GPS Reception is bouncy during summer, cross the bridge and head up the trail. When you reach the fork in the trail stop. This is the starting point.
Use the clue, get up close to it, turn and look. You will know what direction. Right off the end of the water bar you will see a tree with a trunk about the diameter of a basketball. Walk to this tree. (And now for a bit of old school.) Head Bearing North 16 degrees (Magnetic with 3 degrees declination)to the bigger tree at 18 paces. Here you will find stage 1.
You will find the coordinates to get to the “Spirit Tree”, stage 2 cache. When you get there you will find an informational sheet of history and rumors that I have been told. Don’t hold me to them, its just interesting information passed on to me. This will provide the information to stage 3.
Slip on those hiking boots,bring some water, wear thick PANTS and bring the mosquito dope because it’s going to be a hike. Give yourself lots of time. The hike during summer to the final stage can be quite over grown. Bushwhacking is required. During fall through spring when it’s not as overgrown it is a nice hike. You will more than likely see deer and many types of birds, so bring binoculars.
