Cache is located off a desert trail at about 6500 ft above sea level.
Cache is a coffee can incognito, so please bring only small trade items. The original contents are all owl-related, including a Rice U. kerchief, Harry Potter sunglasses, a postcard of the famous Albuquerque Owl Cafe, and other little owls.
The most logical parking would be at the Ellena Gallegos picnic area (fee area) or the Sandia Peak Tram parking area (also requiring a small fee). The cache can be reached off TR365. From Ellena Gallegos, TR365 crosses Simms Park Rd before the gate to the picnic area. If you want a longer hike, the cache can also be reached by taking TR365 from the tram. This trail is popular with mountain bikers. For hikers it offers beautiful desert terrain and only small elevation changes. Watch out for cactus and snakes, though!
