A little-known rock structure at the end of a nice trail in a San Anselmo town park.
Park in the lot for Sorich Park at the end of San Francisco Blvd. Start in the redwood grove just to the west of the parking lot. Follow the new Dean Nyberg Trail (named in honor of my friend and the former Parks Director) 0.3 miles up the hill. The trail was built in May 2006 by Liam Hughes of San Anselmo as an Eagle Scout project (ScoutBoy and MouseWiz would have added it to their Cache to Eagle series). I helped. We built this trail to prevent erosion on the illegal trails, so please, no short cuts. The trail only takes ten minutes and is by far the easiest way. At the end are two huge rocks forming the foundation of a cool rock structure. Climb the rock shaded by the bay tree. The container has been replaced yet again, this time with a pill bottle. BYOP.
