Geocache Description:

Welcome to this easy and nice 2 step multi-cache at the Island Öja, near the village Landsort. See the related web page for boat connection, www.waxholmsbolaget.se

The light house Landsort is the oldest in Sweden, it was built by the Dutch tradesman Johan van der Hagen 1658. But alreay in year 1200 the sea mark was mentioned in the literature. It has been a pilot location since 1535.

On the way to Ankarudden, where the boat to Öja is leaving, are several caches located. It is also possibe to use your own boat, then the harbour North or East is recommended. In the north harbour bicycles are availabale for rent, it will take you 15 minutes cross the Island.

It is recommended to bring a packed lunch or why not visit one of the small, very nice restaurants at the Island?

From the village of Landsort via the first and final location and back again it will take you max 1 hour (possible in 30 minutes).

Step 1:
At the first location: A year translated into XYZW (e.g 1650 = X=1 Y=6 Z=5 W=0)

Step 2:
X,Y,Z,W will give you the 2nd and final position:
58 44.5YZ N
17 52.XZW E

The cache contained:
3 x pens
1 x pencil-sharpener
1 x log book
1 x clock
