Geocache Description:

Park at these coordinates after dusk. Trail is hard packed with not too much elevation change, but there are logs across the trail at places and mud during soggy weather. Cache is a small tool box wrapped inside black plastic.

THE MYSTERY OF SASQUATCH'S LAIR --- Back in the 1960's Scooby Doo and the gand of Mystery, Inc. failed to solve the "Mystery of Sasquatch's Lair", and subsequently decided not to publicize this embarrassing failure on their cartoon show. Now it is up to you pesky, meddling cachers to discover the monster's hidden treasure. Park at the above coordinates after dark to begin this spooktacular adventure. I suppose you could find it during daylight, but the glints show up best at night and jeepers!, it's just more fun finding this one with a flashlight.

From the coordinates you will see a trailhead at the SW corner of the small park. Using a flashlight, start down this spooky path into the maze of trails and start searching for glints. Follow the glints until you find two glints together. From here you should be able to see a second set of double glints. You will find the cache near that second set. To find your way out retrace your steps until the last junction. From that point you will see a sign that says "Boundary Trail". Follow that trail. You will see a second sign that says "Park Trail - Log Jam". Follow this and you will be back to the starting point.

SPOOKY THEME: Idea for swag - Scooby Doo items, monster action figures, glow-in-the-dark items, rubber eyeballs... Have fun with it and keep to the theme (unless leaving a TB) and as always, try to leave something of equal or greater value than what you traded for.

RUH-ROH, SHAGGY!: Watch out for the Phantom Menace, Ghouls, and logs across the trail. Also, if you have a small dog with you keep them close and leashed as this area has owls and coyotes looking for a bite to eat. Scooby's nephew, Scrappy Doo, was almost a Scooby snack for a great horned owl in these very woods! Bring extra batteries for your flashlights, and finally, by jinkies, DON'T go into the woods alone!!!

As Shaggy would say, have a GROOVY time!

Congrats to Landrover, Prying Pandora, Plaidguy and BHMP for a combined FTF!

7-6-06: Many people have noted that we didn't glint trail junctions. That was on purpose! I've done those super easy caches with a glint every 10 feet and they aren't nearly as fun as the ones that make you work. If you want a real night challenge try the "Glints Galore" cache on the Key Peninsula. It makes ours seem like childs play.
