Geocache Description:

This traditional micro cache is hidden in the Cool Cache Land, Cool CA. and replaces the orignal High Voltage.

The area I refer to, as the “Cool Cache Land” is part of the Auburn State Recreation Area State Park. The area comprises many acres of rolling hills covered with oak, some Gray pine, lots of meadows and grassland, small ponds, creeks, and of course it has its share of poison oak. It is common to see wild turkey, coyote, red tailed hawks and turkey vultures doing their usual thing. There are miles of hiking, biking, running, and equestrian trails. In the spring the wildflowers are spectacular! There are several ways to locate the Cool-Cache-Land; the most popular is by taking I80 to South on Hwy 49 to the town of Cool. The traditional starting point, which has plenty of parking, is West of the fire station on the right just as you enter the town of Cool (N 38 53.335 W121 01.036). This particular parking area is best suited for equestrians’ hikers have several entry points to choose from. This section of the park is open 7:00am – 9:00pm.

The name of the cache will become apparent when you arrive at the coordinates. There is NO danger of being executed while searching for the cache. However, if you locate the cache it will be as electrifying as….your first kiss or winning the Indy 500…. or??? In other words, I hope you enjoy the search. Please return the cache exactly as you found it to preserve the caching pleasure for the next hunter.

The nearest parking is at N38 53.335 W121 01.036. From there, you can stay on the Olmstead Loop trail all the way to the cache site.

The usual foothills warnings apply; horses, bicycles, poison oak, rattlesnakes, and ticks are surely in the area but I haven’t seen any near the cache site.
