Lower Dry Bed Lake Traditional Cache
ohjoy!: Once again, the second location for this cache was under water during the winter, so the cache is missing.
Due to the fact that it is rarely hunted, I have decided to archive it rather than head out there and replace it in yet another spot.

Lower Dry Bed Lake is an open bowl of a lake. It’s a great spot to sit in the sunshine and hope that if you are quiet enough, an animal will wander by for your enjoyment.
The cache is an ammo can. I brought the original container on a maintenance run (with the O.F.F. team) to the Dry Bed Lakes Lookout cache in case a replacement was needed. When we went to check on the Upper Dry Bed Lake cache, we discovered a second pathway leading from the parking area and found that it led to the Lower Dry Bed Lake. We decided that since I had an unneeded container, why not place a third cache in the area to take cachers to this spot as well.
Now that the original one was confirmed missing, the four of us visiting the site pulled together everything needed to place a new container in a better spot.
To get to the cache site:
- follow the directions given for the Dry Bed Lakes Lookout cache up to the point where it mentions the turn-off for the 835 line.
- take the 835 line turn-off, drive in as far as you can, and then walk the rest of the way to the cache site.
If you take the wrong pathway, you will find yourself at the site of the Upper Dry Bed Lake cache, proving that sometimes wrong is right. (Or that left is right?)
The warnings about potential entrance gate closures apply, although this cache is located before you get to the new area where there is active work occurring.
