Brown has indeed done a lot for
Louisville and the states of Kentucky and Indiana. With their
huge worldport, they have change the economy of this region
for decades to come. It’s one thing to see the huge airplanes
that takeoff and land regularly next to I-65 but one of the
most important things that Brown does for this area is the
feeder businesses that have located in and around Louisville
because of the air hub. A perfect example of this can be seen
15 miles to the south in Shepherdsville where an entire
industrial park has developed because businesses needed to be
close to shipping. Zapos.com, a large shoe company has set up
an entire industry on the mail order system. So the next time
you hear that a new company has located in this area, ask
yourself would it be here without Brown?
This area used to be a neighborhood of
modest homes but has been bought up by the air board to promote
airport businesses. There are plans to connect this area via a
bridge over Interstate 65 to Grade Lane and the airport.
