Geocache Description:

This micro is located on the Scenic 309 Byway on the south side of Mt. Magazine.

This is my favorite side of the mountain. I have competed in the Mt. Magazine 15k Run (from Havana to the Petit Jean Overlook), biked up (mountain bike) and over (road bike) the mountain. A put this cache out today after completing the 15k Run.

The Scenic Byway runs across Mt. Magazine, home to Mt. Magazine State Park and a challenging (in that only a few adventurous, brave folks have tried it) geocache of mine called Way Up on the Mountain (GCJ6E9)and another calle Mossback Ridge Cache(GCVXOM). This micro cache is on the south side of the mountain at the junction of the only real road that intersects 309 above the base. Some folks park near here to ride the Huckleberry Trail system that is nearby. There is plenty of room to pull to the side of the road near the cache.

It should be easy to find-the hint is a spoiler. This is a good place to stretch your legs and do whatever else you desire before making your way up the south side of the mountain. The area is almost flat and somewhat clean as it is on the edge of the highway.

During the warm months you will encounter flying and crawling insects here. You may encounter almost any native species of animal here at any time on the byway. Please mention any encounters in the logs.

If you make the trip, I want you to find it-use the clue. There are two other caches on the south side of the mountain-one called Scenic 309 Byway - Foot of the Mountain South and one called Goat's Bluff. There is another cache on the north base called Scenic 309 Byway - Foot of the Mountain North.

Cover for this cache: Taking a break on the pull off.

UPDATE 2/07: Had to the move the cache due to a vehicle wiping out previous location.
