"

The land for the original site of the Zion Lutheran Church and Cemetery was donated by Andrew Olson, a member of the first board of trustees, in 1906. The Zion Lutheran Church now located in Deary was built on this site that same year. This site was chosen because there was no town of Deary to speak of at that time. The Church was dismantled and moved to Deary about 1923. Only the cemetery remains.
