If you have done my Up and Over the Mountian Cache, This is the reason for the machines and the Quarry. Built in the early 1900s. If you have never been to this place you will be glad you made the journey.
The easiest Route is to follow 949 out of Ridgway along the Clarion River. This is a very scenic ride with a multitude of wild life. Follow 949 till you come to two large bridges. One is over a Railroad and the other is over Toby Creek. You will turn left at the end of the 2ND bridge; the name of the road is Carmen. It is a small dirt road a bit on the rough side so if you have a car drive slow. Follow this till you come to a gate. From here you are on your own. The trip to the cache is just under 3 miles out and back. The gated road is a horse and mountain bike trial. Also there is good fishing in Toby Creek and a small Dam just on the other side of the hill it was always good bass fishing. I hope you enjoy this cache site.
