WGA2: I noticed that this cache has remained temporarily disabled for a period of time well in excess of the period of ‘a few weeks’ as contemplated by the cache guidelines published on Geocaching.com. For now, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Geocache Description:

This cache is along the Red Cedar State Trail. The trail is mostly flat with only mild changes in elevation. The cache is located no more than 15' from the trail. (But it will help if you are part mountain goat for the last 15'.) I had difficulty getting good coodinates at the actual cache location so the coordinates listed are taken from the trail.

Experience the trail as it passes through wooded sandstone buffs, prairies and wetlands for over 14 miles along the Red Cedar River. The Red Cedar State Trail starts at Riverside Park in Menomonie, Wisconsin and connects with the Chippewa River Trail just north of Durand, Wisconsin.

The original railroad freight depot in Menomonie houses an interpretive center with various nature and historical displays and programs. Trail passes, maps and T-shirts can be purchased there. Picnic tables and benches are located along the trail. A state trail pass is required.

The cache is within a mile of an eagle's nest and the eagles are seen often. So bring along your camera!

This cache is very close to the trail so a little stealth may be required. You will need to climb a very short hill which is nearly vertical, so sandals and flip flops are not advised. The container is a Lock-N-Lock about 5" square and 6" tall. Please cover it with leaves and branches after visiting.
