RACCOON CREEK KINGS CREEK CEMETERY AND.... Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

pafarmboy: This one has had a good run, but I think 6 years is enough. The CCC stonework near the final got washed out a few years back. I'll snag the can next time I'm down that way. Thanks to all that have made the trek.....

Have fun out there.

Geocache Description:

This cache will expire on June 25th, 2012

The above coords are the location of Kings Creek Cemetery. This cemetery is the final resting place for many of the first settlers in the area, as well as several veterans from the Revolutionary War. That's right, I said REVOLUTIONARY WAR. How cool is that!!

Although this would be a great place to do a night cache, it is illegal to be in this park of the park after dusk. Please be respectful of park rules. Plus, looking for the final at night could send you over a cliff before you know it.

This cache was inspired by The Secrets of Green Valley. You will find the necessary coordinates for the final cache's location by exploring the headstones and decoding the following code. Please be respectful of the area while exploring.

Code to final coords:

Final: N40 AB.CDB W80 AE.EFB

Park at: N40 AB.DGE W80 AE.GGF
  1. Maggie Tucker July 28th, 18D6
  2. Hugh Miller PVT PA Militia Revolutionary War 175G - 1831
  3. Samuel McCausland 1813 - 18C8
  4. David Kerr PVT VA TRP Revolutionary War 17E9 - 1804
  5. Elizabeth Cameron B. April 28, 1845 Died Dec 23, 187B
  6. Martha Ralston D. Feb. 2A, 1873
  7. John Boyd PVT Continental Line Revolutionary War 1747 - 18F0

You will need to drive to the parking spot to hike in for the final destination. It is a .50 ammo can. I have provided a pretty detailed hint so you won't tear up or fall down the hillside. Observe the scenery, too. It's why I put the cache there.

Good luck and check out the others located in the park as well.
