Geocache Description:

Cap-Under Caching Classic #31.

Placed just off one of the various trails that meander through the Kapunda countryside, maccamob’s one hundred and twenty second cache is our permanent contribution to the SA 2006 Event.

The Mawson Trail is designed for mountain bike or sturdy touring bike use - it is not suitable for road bikes - but motorists and walkers can enjoy this particular section too. Honouring one of Australia’s greatest explorers, Sir Douglas Mawson, the trail covers more than 800 kilometres from Blinman in the Flinders Ranges, through the Mount Lofty Ranges, to the Festival Centre in Adelaide. As a lecturer in petrology (the study of the origin and structure of rocks) at Adelaide University, Mawson led field trips to the South Australian Outback on numerous occasions in the early 1900s. The Mawson Trail takes you through exceptional countryside as well as through towns and villages. The trail includes little-used country roads, State forest and national park fire trails, farm access tracks and unmade or unused road reserves, and avoids traffic and bitumen roads. See the South Australian Trails site or Bicycle SA for more information.

As usual, please ensure the cache is not visible, and that all the camouflage is arranged to look as natural as possible, before you leave.
