Geocache Description:

Cache is hidden close to the Suffolk Coast & Heath path which overlooks the Felixstowe Docks. It can be reached from two possible starting points; from the Bristol Arms pub in Shotley Gate at the end of the B1456, or from St Mary's Church (with parking behind the church at N 51 58.687, E 1 15.331). If you want to spend half a day out, it is possible to turn this cache trek into a circular walk.

On a good clear day you can see the busy container docks at Felixstowe across the river, as well as sail boats whipping up and down the waters. Observant geocachers will also spot a number of wading birds along the Shotley Marshes. This cache is NOT suitable for buggies as there are stiles to clamber over and steep sections to climb. Dogs MUST be kept on leads due to free roaming livestock. The cache is a camo painted ammo box with clip-down lid, replacing the original plastic one on 21 Aug 2022. PLEASE REPLACE CACHE FULLY BACK INTO ITS POSITION AFTERWARDS. This should prevent it from being casually sniffed/pulled out by inquisitive dogs :) Thank you.
