Geocache Description:

Cache is placed just outside of the Jeremiah Curtin House property.

The house is open for FREE guided tours on Sundays from May 15 to October 5, from 1-4pm.

You can read about the house on the large historical sign out front of the house during non tour hours.

Jeremiah, his mother and father (David), were among a group of Irish immigrants who settled in Greenfield in the mid 1830's. With the help of a stone mason, David Curtin built this first of its kind stone house in the Old Town of Greenfield in 1846. It was sold to the Trimborn family in 1866 and remained occupied until the 1920's. The Milwaukee County Historical Society acquired the house in 1952 and it was restored in 1976.
