Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
NOTE: The logging road is closed currently. You can hike up from
the bottom, though. This cache, just off a logging road, provides a
scenic view of the McCall area and Payette Lake. You can drive to
within about 300 feet, then go for a short hike to the cache. Pay
attention to the instructions below, and you might learn something
new. BA?C
Have you ever taken the time to smell a Ponderosa Pine tree?
(Yeah... we know... now you think we're nuts. It's OK. We won't
take it personally.) Do yourself a favor and go over to the big
Ponderosa that is very near this cache. Bury your nose in the bark,
and take a good whiff (nobody is looking... go ahead). Amazing,
huh! The scent is strongest in the summer when the sap is running,
but we've smelled it in the winter too. When you log the cache,
please let us know what you think the tree smells like. We're
betting you'll be craving a certain type of pudding before you
leave.
On your way to the cache, you'll cross a great vantage point to
see Ponderosa State Park, Payette Lake, McCall, and Long
Valley.
Two hints are included. The first is for the place to turn off
of Warren Wagon Road. The second is for the cache.
