Geocache Description:

** 2/2/2019 Replaced original container with an ammo can** My first hide, hope you enjoy it! You are looking for a green shoebox-sized “Snapware” container hidden in an area overlooking the Upper Klamath Lake. Close to Highway 97, but unless you are in extremely good physical condition I wouldn’t make a direct vertical approach from the highway – there IS an easier way (one that also does not require you to park along this somewhat dangerous stretch of busy highway). Not recommended for trucks or large RV cachers due to narrow winding road, but easily accessible in the family automobile to within 400 feet of the cache. You can drive to within 100 feet of the cache, but you should have a fairly high ground clearance vehicle for the last 440 feet. Any pickup truck or SUV-type vehicle will do it and four wheel drive is not required. This cache is not wheelchair-friendly; watch for snakes. I didn't see any when I stashed it, but it seems like good country for them. The cache contains a disposable camera – you know what to do. (If you don’t know, you take your picture and leave the camera; when it runs out of film let me know and I’ll come up and replace it, develop the film, and post the pics.) Besides the camera, initial cache contents include an indoor outdoor thermometer, a Nancie de Ross CD, and an assortment of small items I’ve swapped out of other caches: • Wheelin’ and Dreamin’ Quad travel bug I picked up while enjoying the McGrew Trail • Deck of cards • Golf ball • Black Butte Towing key ring • Little black mouse • Little white mouse • Mouse-shaped highlighter • Hotwheels truck • Clown nose • Mouse toilet (moist towlette) • Car wash token from Econo Car Wash in Klamath Falls Hopefully the summer heat won’t destroy the film, but we’ll see! If the thermometer is still in the cache, post the temperature reading in your log when you find it. There are several other caches in this general area, so enjoy the view and get a few. UPDATE: I visited the cache today (8/19/06) to check on things and as some have stated, the area is indeed infested with spiders and spider webs. However, don't let them take away your fun! I suggest you take a big stick with you as I did to whisk away the webs as you encounter them and try to avoid brushing into the brush in the area.
