Geocache Description:

A Dam on the Berg River. This used to be a river crossing before they built the dam wall.

If you feel active bring a canoe, the dam pushes back 18 kilometers upstream and access onto the river is not regulated and free at this point.
For the inactive there have been many large carp caught just above the dam wall.
For the geology nuts free rock core samples drilled during the making of the dam can be found in the mud shack next to the cache.
Boat access onto the river can be done at the Elani Resort just upstream as well as food and drink and accomodation.
Summer weekends and school holidays tend to be busy here so beware of watchers but weekdays are dead quite.
