New Wichita Falls Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Reviewer Revan: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so I am regretfully archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace this cache sometime in the future (not to exceed 10 days from the date of this entry), just contact me (by e-mail), and assuming it still meets the current Guidelines, I will consider unarchiving this cache.

Please be advised this is not a guarantee that this geocache will be unarchived. Many factors will go into my decision. The most important of which is how you responded to geocachers who tried to communicate with you regarding the problem(s) with this geocache hide and how you communicated with me, the Reviewer Revan.

Geocache Description:

As you might guess this is not the original falls of the Wichita River; nor is it the original location.

The old waterfall was a small sandstone outcropping, which washed away in a flood, along with a few streets and a town square sometime after 1876. A ripple of water is all that remains and can be seen at Waypoint: GCG7ZJ

The new waterfall is the result of the "Put The Falls Back" campaign in 1986. The non-profit Wichita Falls Streams and Valleys organization wanted to bring back the cities namesake. The price tag to make the city honest: $418,000.

This is a multi-stage cache. Stage I is a paved path up a very steep hill, but it's still appropriate for the entire family. You will discover a spectacular view, but watch your step because it's a long way down! At Stage I you are looking for posted coordinates, which will lead you to Stage II. At the Stage II, you are looking for a small container with just enough room for wooden coins and other small trades. Bring your own pen.
