Geocache Description:

This is the Beach Ridge region of the Sequoia National Forest. This particular spot provides a nice vista of the region, and is also an excellent camping or picnic spot! It's also located very near Point A of the "Mountain Road Navigator" cache, so bring a camera if your planning on going for your Mountain Magellan qualification.

This cache is not always accessible, as the area usually closes for the winter with lots of snow. From November through May, recommend calling ahead to the Cannell Ranger Station at (760) 376-3781 for a pre-recorded message on road conditions/closures near the Black Rock Ranger Station. A short section of dirt road leads to the final approach to the cache. Most vehicles should be able to easily traverse this road. However large RV's should park outside the last 200 feet as tree and bush clearance will be close.

Directions: From Sherman Pass Road, exit onto forest road 21S18. Activate your GPS and use it to proceed to the cache. You'll need to take two left forks, with each forked road becoming slightly more faint with travel. The distance from Sherman Pass Road is only about 1/2 mile.

Original contents of the cache were a logbook, pencils, and the usual assortment of toys. If you're continuing on to Sherman Pass after this cache, make sure that you also visit our "Sherman Pass Cache" to log an easy 2fer for the day.

Enjoy,

J, D, & H
