Geocache Description:

Easy terrain but requires stealth.

You should find yourself next to a controversial sculpture. The figures allude to classical mythology. The Minotaur Apollo, the sun god, and Dianna the huntress, goddess of the moon. This group stands about 3m high and is made of cast bronze. It was erected in 1989, commissioned from the artist Paul Juraszek, by the City of Malvern. It represents a pair of mythological figures, standing and facing each other with arms outstretched: a huge, musclebound, aggressively male Minotaur, and a female Diana or huntress figure wearing a kind of feather cloak with a lioness at her feet. The plaque tells us the sculpture is "a symbol of universal human endeavour." It is both loathed and loved by locals. I’ll let you make up your own mind as to why!!

Keeping the mayor on your right and a cappuccino on your left, the cache may be found within 5m of the huntress.

This area is extremely busy so extreme stealth is a must while searching for and retrieving this cache. In particular, be careful attempting this cache during mealtime hours, as people will likely be dining in the open areas around the restaurant next door.

The cache is small, only holding a notebook and pencil, however you do not have to dig, unscrew, lift or walk in areas where you are not welcome. So enjoy the hunt.

I’ve given this cache a difficulty rating of 3, largely because of the pressure of being stealthy while searching for and retrieving the cache. I would appreciate feedback as to the appropriateness or inappropriateness of that rating.
