The Alderman's Gift Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Dalesman: This cache has been disabled for some time and as the owner has not repaired it I am archiving it.
Guidelines: "You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing."
If you wish to email me please send your email via my profile (click on my name) and quote the cache name and number.

Many thanks,
Geocache Description:

The Cache has been relocated due to being stolen from its original location.
This is a very busy park so please be carefull not to be seen when replacing the cache and make sure that it is well disguised. Thank you enjoy your visit.

There are various car parks within the park but please be aware that they are locked at night. Check the boards for the closing time, so your car isn't locked in.

Graves Park is on the south side of Sheffield and was formerly part of Norton Estate, it covers over 200 acres making it the largest park in Sheffield.

This historic parkland has existed as such for around 1000 years and the earliest known reference to its ownership is in the last will and testament of Wulfic Spott in 1002.

The park was saved from development by one of the citys major benefactors Alderman J.G.Graves who purchased the land between 1926 and 1936 and gifted it to the people of Sheffield as parkland forever.

The park also has as Animal Farm and a Rare Breeds Centre.

When the cache was placed it contained:
Unactivated TB for the first to find.
Nail Clippers.
Address Book.
Wooden Train.
Hair Bobble.
"Preston" Wallace and Gromit pen topper
