staunton stroll 2 Traditional Cache
smudgesmith: Hi and thank you to all who have found this cache. I've decided to archive this cache and leave geocaching for a while. My wife has been diagnosed with cancer and the outlook is bleak to say the least. It has been difficult for me to travel and maintain the cache as well as thinking it may have been compromised ( 3 trackables missing) have managed to mark two missing but could someone let OMNOM's owner know theirs has gone as well. Again, thank you one and all,who knows what the future will bring. Happy geocaching!

staunton country park, not easy for pushchairs towards end, in woods, muddy conditions if raining
This is a regular "ammo box" type cache with the usual goodies in it - i.e. mini playing cards, funky bottle openers, various soft toys and other surprises. There's parking at N50 52.411 W000 58.523, though the gates are locked at 4-30pm-5-30pm depending on time of year and now costs £2 (though for the whole day!) You can park across the road but don't block the gate! GPSRs can be activated either at the car park or when you (carefully) cross the road. Shortly after entering the park You will come across a sweeping staircase before turning right onto a well maintained path. Follow this, passing a play area, the beacon on the right where the owner used to have celebration fires until you come to some small climbing walls. From this point you can either play Ray Mears and bash through the woods or carry on to the end of the path where you find another path which runs alongside the one you've just come down on. The cache is about 30 feet(ish) off the path but beware the muddy hollow!Because of this I've upped the D/T rating, oh and look out for the mossies in the summer!!!
