Welcome to the latest edition of our Fallin' For Virginia cache
series. We are attempting to bring you to the most beautiful
waterfalls of Southwest Virginia. This waterfall is just below the
Upper Water Falls of the Little Stony Creek.
From the parking area you will pass the Upper Falls and it's
cache (GCWW5M) Continuing down the trail will bring you to the
Troll cache (GCMDGK) and then to this falls and cache. If you go an
another short distance you can find "Granny's" cache (GC57DF). The
entire trail is 2.8 miles in length through a 400 foot deep and
1700 foot wide gorge. Of course, you are not going that far but you
might want to. The trail is fairly gentle and there are many
wonders of nature to see.
GPS reception was very difficult so you may need to use the
hints. If you don't mind, post your coordinates at the cache if
your GPS is recieving with good accuracy. You are looking for a
camo-taped Rubbermaid container. Please put the cache and
everything else back the way you found it.
By all means, take your camera. Take good walking shoes and your
bathing suit (warm weather only, ha!). Great place for a picnic.
Please practice CITO. The place is very clean but there are those
who respect nothing. When placing the cache, we saw some trash but
didn't have a bag.
I want to give a special thanks to mtmanva2 for acting as
the guide for the trip and help in placing the cache. He is what
caching is all about.
