Geocache Description:

Located at a small memorial in the town of Alplaus. This is a quick and easy cache.

The hamlet of Alplaus is part of the town of Glenville. It's a tiny little place with a lot of character. The memorial where the cache is located remembers one of the special folks that makes living in Alplaus such a great experience.

This should be a quick and easy cache for all. The container is a .50 cal ammo can. It's filled with all the usual toys, and some camping supplies (we love to hike and camp as well). There's also a prize for the first to find with more goodies inside!

Even though the cache is pretty easy, take a stroll down Alplaus Ave and get a feel for this quaint little town. Stop by the Post Office and pick up a free copy of the local 'newspaper'. It's like living in a slice of 1950s history with Ward and June Cleaver. Even though we are surrounded by big cities and growing suburbs, when we tell people we live in Alplaus they say "Huh? Where?". And even though we like that reaction, we want to share our little hamlet. Now, as you drive to the cache, don't blink or you'll miss it!
