Hidden in a rock formation resembling a BIG TURTLE.
Located at 6206 feet, this area was just itching for a cache or two. Great view of everything from up here, however you are not coming up here for the view. You are coming up here because I hid an ammo can here. Don't find a new hobby, and leave the girlfriend at home like I did and just get up here and find this cache.
Access to this area is at N 39 30.489 W 119 57.943. Please close gate when entering and leaving. The sign on the gate says private property but this road is an easement to the public lands. I checked with the BLM fire house right next to the gate. This area is very popular with quads and dirt bikes. I hiked in all the way from just over the ditch where there is plenty of parking. A high clearance vehicle can get you fairly close but some uphill hiking will be necessary at some point. The road I hiked up takes you to the Boy Scouts Fuller Lake Camp and you should not hike past their gate with a no tresspassing sign on it. You can hike through the camp with permission from the council by calling 775-787-1111. You do not need to do so to get to this cache.
FTF gets the unregistered Nevada geocoin and whatever else you want. I have started this cache with all kinds of stuff that I have bought or collected while geocaching through the years as well as a log and cache note. I have also started a new travel bug called The Anvil. It has a mission so please help it along the way.
Enjoy and have fun.
