Squirrels Gone Wild Traditional Cache

This used to be a nice quiet spot in a stand of trees at the Round Lake Park District. There is a senior center, daycare, preschool, swimming pool, playground and top notch nature center. The library is right next door. You could walk the extensive grounds or just sit and relax on the bench. Things have changed.
When I first checked this spot a few months ago there were some acorn shells in the hole. I figured the local squirrels were using it to hoard nuts for the winter. I didn’t want to disturb them, so I decided not to place a cache here after all. I recently stopped by again and realized that the squirrels have been busy. In fact, they have gone WILD!!!!! They weren’t hoarding nuts, it was leftovers from a party! They have also left all sorts of toys and games to play with at their squirrel parties. In fact, this is apparently the hot place to hang out if you are a squirrel. They come from all over the Round Lake area to party here. I left them an old container that used to hold cache you nuts (I mean cashew nuts), a logbook and pen. I cleaned out the squirrel sized bikini tops and cans. Bring items you think a squirrel could use to get down, or just stop by and join the party. That is, if you think you can handle it. And if you come at the right time, make sure you have your video camera ready to catch the SQUIRRELS GONE WILD!!!!
