Geocache Description:

Located on the banks of the Nunckatessett or 'Town' River, near Skim Milk Bridge. You won't find the bridge shown on any map dated after 1831. The bridge was the original river crossing on the path between Old Bridgewater and Taunton, before Scotland Ave was connected to Elm Street. A life-long resident of the area told me the origin of the name comes from the time when the local dairy farmers would drive their wagons across the bridge, transporting their milk down to Raynham and Taunton.

The cache can be reached either by trail or by canoe/kayak. Take the river for the more scenic views. The best put in/starting point is at the Scotland St Bridge. Cache is a tupperware container with the usual cache items.

When you come, please grab a 'souvenier' CITO kit from the cache and use the trash bag inside it to help keep the area looking good for all who follow.
